We have a Humanitarian Aid Office in Arivaca, Arizona where we support border residents providing crisis relief. We run a campaign for the abolition of inland Border Patrol checkpoints and the demilitarization of the borderlands. We work with No More Deaths to provide food, water, and harm-reduction resources to displaced persons in Sasabe, Sonora. We work in coalition with other communities in the border zone to work for demilitarization.
We are a humanitarian organization based in southern Arizona. We began in 2004 in the form of a coalition of community and faith groups, dedicated to stepping up efforts to stop the deaths of migrants in the desert and to achieving the enactment of a set of Faith-Based Principles for Immigration Reform. We later developed into an autonomous project. Since 2008 we have been an official ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson.
We are a binational organization that works in the area of migration and is located in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. The KBI was inaugurated in January of 2009 by six organizations from the United States and Mexico: The California Province of the Society of Jesus, Jesuit Refugee Service/USA, the Missionary Sisters of the Eucharist, the Mexican Province of the Society of Jesus, the Diocese of Tucson and the Diocese of Nogales. The KBI’s vision is to help make humane, just, workable migration between the U.S. and Mexico a reality. Its mission is to promote US/Mexico border and immigration policies that affirm the dignity of the human person and a spirit of bi-national solidarity
The Casa Alitas Program serves migrant families who have left their home countries to escape violence and poverty. We provide care, short-term shelter and help to reunite with family members in the U.S.
